The Origins of the Nice Nord District

Located south of the A8 highway, on either side of Boulevard Gorbella, the northern districts of Nice—Le Ray, Saint-Sylvestre, and Saint-Maurice—separate the prestigious Cimiez district from the popular Libération district and the western valleys and hills. Now a very urban and cosmopolitan area, this sector primarily developed in the 1960s and 70s, during the population boom in French metropolises.
